2200 Pan/Tilt/Zoom
Camera Reference Guide
[This note applies to all
ICR Flex & Pro series DVRs]
This guide
references quick solutions to commonly asked questions about the 2200
Pan/Tilt/Zoom camera. For a more in-depth explanation, please refer to the
instruction manual that was included with the camera.
Step 1: Installing the camera will start out by
correctly wiring everything with the terminals that were included with the
camera. Below gives a quick run through on which position is needed for what
terminal on the camera. It is recommended to wire the terminals on a leveled
comfortable space for assurance everything is wired correctly.

Once wiring is complete, you need to
issue the camera a unique ID (address) so that it doesn’t interact with other
control driven cameras. The dip switch (located on the top of the cameras
module) physically allows you to set this ID and also the protocol and
baud-rate of the camera. Refer to your manual for a detailed table on different
dip switch configurations. Below is a chart that tells you what position the
dip switch needs to be set for what protocol and baud rate you need.

Step 2: After properly wiring, making the runs and
installing the camera at the location (refer to the cameras manual if having
trouble mounting), power it up and assure proper video is seen. Next you would
need to configure the DVR or controller you’re using to be able to communicate
with the camera. First be sure to properly connect your RS485 communication
wire (+, -) to the said controlling device. If you are connecting the camera to
one of our DVRs, refer to the links describing how to make a proper connection
for it. Below includes the protocol and baud-rate options included with the
camera (which can be changed from the illustration above):
Protocol: Pelco D, Pelco P
Baud-rate: 2400, 9600,
4800
If everything was done accurately, you
should now have control of the Pan/Tilt/Zoom camera.
Step 3: Now on to setting up swings (similar to auto
scan), groups (similar to tours), patterns etc. As always the camera has its
own OSD (On Screen Display) which has options to configure these operations. For
other settings pertaining to the camera itself, please refer to the manual. Presets
already predefined for operations such as patterns and groups can not be used
for setting additional presets. Use presets 1 – 127 to set your own presets. Note:
you can not use 95 as a preset since it’s already used for calling the
OSD menu.
Step 4: To setup a swing, navigate to “DOME CAMERA
SETUP” then “SWING” from the main menu of the OSD. Once in the menu follow the
illustration below and the steps that follow.

Swing gives the feature to pan from
one preset to the other.
Swing No. - Refers to the swing number you are setting.
Up to 8 different swings can be configured. Use presets (starting from the
first swing preset) 141 – 148.
1ST Pos. – Press Focus Near to set
a preset for your starting position. This preset has to be between 1 – 128
which you need to assign before setting up the swing.
2nd Pos. - Press Focus Near to set
a preset for your ending position. See above description for more information.
Swing Speed – Varies the speed in which the swing
operates at. It ranges from 1/Sec to 180/Sec. The lower it goes, the slower the
speed gets.
Clear Swing – Deletes the current swing you have
selected from the beginning.
Step 5: To setup groups, navigate to “DOME CAMERA
SETUP” then “GROUP” from the main menu of the OSD. Once in the menu follow the
illustration below and the steps that follow.

Grouping allows various presets to
be set in an order to run.
Group No. – Group number which has a possibility of 8
different groups. Use presets (starting from the first group preset) 151 – 158.
Clear Group – Deletes the group you have
selected above.
Edit Group – Takes you to the group editing sub menu.

Group
editing sub menu.
Column description:
NO – Number of step in the
given group.
Action ### – Type of operations
the step will be performing which
Dwell – How long the current
preset will stay at that position
Opt – Depending on which
operation you have set in action, the option field displays differently. If the
action is set to a preset, then it ranges the speed for it. If the action is a
pattern/swing, then it ranges on how many times it will run.
# 1 – 5 – The numbers 1 through 5 indicate the
“steps” that make up the group. To make changes in to each “step”, use Focus
Near to start the editing process and Focus Far to finish it. Move
the joystick Left/Right to move the cursor to the next field. Move the
joystick Up/Down to change the field’s value.
Step 6: To setup patterns, navigate to “DOME CAMERA
SETUP” then “PATTERN” from the main menu of the OSD. Once in the menu follow
the illustration below and the steps that follow.

Patterns
allow you to record joystick (control) movement.
Pattern No – Pattern number which ranges from 1 to 4.
Up to four different patterns can be configured. Use presets (starting from the
first pattern preset) 131 – 134.
CLR Pattern – Delete the pattern number that’s
currently selected.
Edit Pattern – Takes you to the pattern editing
screen. In the next menu, you will record the pattern that you chose from in
the first step.
Edit Pattern Screen – Start by moving
the camera to a start position where you want to begin the pattern at. Once
ready, use Focus Near to start recording your camera’s movement yet be
aware of the progression bar at the top. When the progression bar fills it self
to the last block, it indicates that the recording for the pattern is full.
When finished with recording, use Focus Near to save it or Focus Far
to delete it.
