Video
Balun/UTP Transceivers/Receivers Quick Install Guide
[This note applies to all
ICR Flex series DVRs]
Step 1: Make sure to turn off power on all CCTV equipment that you will be
using with the video baluns.
Step 2: Be assured that all UTP (unshielded twisted pair) cabling in which you
will be running for the cameras are all marked for which camera you will be
using it for so that you do not cross connect any existing runs. Labeling
individual runs will help organize the install.
Notice:
If utilizing data ports (or switches) for your run(s), be sure not to confuse
devices belonging to the other end of that port. Using video baluns with
un-approved devices could result in damage of the foreign device or video
balun.
Step 3: Video
baluns operate in pairs of wires so be sure to read the video balun’s instructions
on which wires are paired from your UTP cabling.

Step 4: Depending on the equipment being connected, connect the BNC connector of
the video balun to the coax connector or cable on the video equipment at each end
of the link.

Step 5: Confirm the pin configuration of the video balun and the UTP
cable run once again.
Step 6: Connect one end of a UTP cable run to the RJ45 modular jack of the video
balun.
Step 7: Plug the other end of the cable run into the appropriate data port
(switch) or directly in to the other end of the other video balun.
Step 8: Power up all device involved in the
installation and be assured you have proper video coming from the camera(s).
